O AZEITE DA UNÇÃO

Um dos aspectos mais incomuns do antigo tabernáculo e do templo era o azeite da unção, especialmente preparado com cinco ingredientes específicos, para a unção do templo e dos sumos sacerdotes.

Moisés descreveu o mandamento de Deus para o povo de Israel: "E disto farás o azeite da santa unção, o perfume composto segundo a obra do perfumista; este será o azeite da santa unção. E com ele ungirás a tenda da congregação, e a arca do Testemunho" Ex 30:25-26.

Um dos cinco ingredientes necessário na preparação do óleo era o cinamomo. O azeite e seus ingredientes foram perdidos, aparentemente para sempre, quando os romanos destruíram o templo em 70 d.C. e queimaram o pequeno bosque onde estavam as únicas duas árvores que produziam um dos cinco ingredientes. Sem um dos ingredientes, os judeus não poderiam mais obedecer os mandamentos de Deus para ungir o templo reconstruído.

Além disso, o profeta Daniel predisse que quando o Messias retornar, será ungido com esse azeite de unção: "Setenta semanas estão determinadas sobre o teu povo e sobre a tua santa cidade, para extinguir a transgressão, e dar fim aos pecados, e expiar a iniqüidade, e trazer a justiça eterna, e selar a visão e a profecia, e ungir o Santo dos santos." Dn 9:24.

Como essas profecias poderiam se cumprir, se um dos principais ingredientes do azeite foi perdido para sempre? Inacreditavelmente, há vários anos, arqueólogos descobriram em Israel um vaso de barro enterrado perto das cavernas do mar Morto, o qual estava cheio do antigo azeite da unção. Os cientistas confirmaram que o óleo tem dois mil anos de idade e que é composto com os mesmo ingredientes descritos em Êxodo 30:25-26.

The anointing oil

One of the most unusual aspects of the ancient tabernacle and the temple was the anointing oil, specially prepared with five specific ingredients for the anointing of the temple and priests.

Incredibly, several years ago, archaeologists discovered in Israel a clay pot buried near the caves of the Dead Sea, which was full of the ancient anointing oil. Scientists have confirmed that the oil has two thousand years and is made with the same ingredients described in Exodus 30: 25-26.
